Konbini or convenience store is the place where you can get some yummy and nice cakes or dessert with low prices. From sweet sandwich to cheesecake, here are some 新発売 (read: shinhatsubai, meaning newest or latest release) desserts for this spring that you can get from the nearest konbini!

Wamuretto

“Fuwa Mochi Sakura Wamuretto” from 7Eleven stores, has been released on February 21. The sales area are: Kanto, Koshinetsu, Shizuoka, Chūgoku (Hiroshima, Okayama, Shimane, Tottori and Yamaguchi), and Kyushu. This product is a Western and Japanese styled sweet sandwich made from sakura mochi, with bean jam and sakura flavored whipped cream fillings. The price is 160 yen (tax included).

Parfait

‘Sakura no Wa Parfait’  from 7Eleven stores, will be released on February 28. This dessert is a Japanese-style with pink sakura mousse, green tea whipped cream, cherry-flavored white bean paste, rice flour dumplings, cherry, and salted cherry blossom on top. The price is 298 yen (tax included).

Snow

“Snow Bomb” from Lawson, has been on sale since February 21 (except for Natural Lawson store and Okinawa region). This is actually the mini version of popular Christmas snow bomb. It’s a fluffy sponge cake with vanilla beans and custard cream, finished with whipped cream and strawberry on top. Price is 320 yen (tax included).

Cheese

“Mochitoro Ichigoreachiizu” (Mochitoro Strawbery no-bake Cheesecake) from 7Eleven has been on sale since February 21 (except for stores in Hokkaido area). This is a western style no-bake cheesecake wrapped in soft mochi and fiiled with sweet and sour strawberry sauce. The price is 120 yen (tax included).
